Elwood Reid's 2004 novel imagines the skyjacker D. B. Cooper as Fitch, a Vietnam veteran who jumps with the money in 1971 and drifts into Mexico, and runs his story beside that of Frank Marshall, a newly retired FBI agent haunted by the unsolved case. At a friend's tiki-torch party Frank is steered toward a woman named Clare, who has not come alone. (Open Library)
