Richard Forrest's Lyon and Bea Wentworth mystery, published by Severn House in Britain in 2005 and in the United States in 2006, opens with the children's author Lyon Wentworth waking from what he takes for a dream of a hooded monk with a medieval sword, his clothes torn and bloodstained. His friend Warren Morgan is then murdered inside an armour-plated Winnebago, a locked room on wheels, and Lyon, his wife Bea, a Connecticut state senator, and Police Chief Rocco Herbert of Murphysville follow the case, which the jacket summarises. Timex (unidentified model): Phyllis Baxter, the children's librarian of the Middleburg Library, widowed young when her husband was electrocuted at the light company, receives Lyon and Rocco in her immaculate ranch house and looks down at the small Timex watch on her wrist to say that she has only a minute before she opens the children's room at three. The visit turns on her twelve-year-old son Ralphie, who has a key to the children's room, a paper route and a way of substituting on the police-station delivery. The maker is named; the model is not.
