First Crush (2008)
More actions

Marcia King-Gamble's romance, published by Kimani Press in 2008, opens on a houseboat on Fort Lauderdale's New River, where Hudson Godfrey, a practicing attorney who has sunk his savings into a Washington State vineyard with his partner, Jonathan Woods, has flown in to break up with his girlfriend, Laila Stewart, a copywriter. He cannot bring himself to say it, and when he goes home to Jon Hudson Cellars, Laila decides to follow him. (Open Library)
Watches
- Movado (unidentified model)
- Four days into a visit he meant to end with a breakup, Hudson lies awake on Laila's houseboat, stressed by two tough cases, a vineyard draining his money and a relationship he cannot give attention to. That morning he rolls his shoulders and glances at his Movado watch, working out that with a three-hour time difference it is far too early to call Jon back in Washington. The maker is named; the model is not.
Source text: Hudson stood, rotating his shoulders. He glanced at his Movado watch. There was a three-hour time difference from coast to coast. It was way too early to call Jon and find out what was going on.
