Anne Marie Duquette's romance, published in Harlequin's Superromance line in 2002 under its In Uniform banner, follows Captain Michael James McLowery, commanding officer of a Navy fleet hospital in the field, and Lori Sepanik, who comes to the training exercise in search of material. Its prologue goes back to Hawaii, to a hot Saturday when Michael was a ten-year-old Cub Scout. (Open Library)
Watches
- Seiko (unidentified model)
- In the prologue, ten-year-old Michael sweats through a first-aid merit-badge class at the Navy housing school in Hawaii, taught by his own mother in her nurse's uniform, while his father and baby sister are at the officers' pool. He keeps checking his black "Glows in the dark!" Seiko, a smaller version of his father's, and groans at how much of Saturday is gone. Before the day is over he watches his sister die, despite a troop of Scouts trained in first aid. The maker is named; the model is not.
