Trevor Meldal-Johnsen's novel follows Sean Parker, a Hollywood actor close to broke and about to lose the house he is sitting, who has won the lead in Princely Passion, a play by his friend Oscar van Houten directed by the film director Michael Falwell at the Outpost Theater on Vermont Avenue, when a woman named Nancy of the Debonaire agency offers him work as an escort to businesswomen and wealthy single women.
