Watches
- Ingersoll watch
- Longarm carries a pear-shaped Ingersoll in his vest pocket. Back at the federal building after lunch at the Stebbins Club, he consults it to concede to the clerk, Henry, that he is a little late (p. 3); at a railroad station he pulls it out to find the 4:20 just coming into sight at 5:17 (p. 15). Leading the rescue of Glenda Palmer, he puts his men on the clock by it and, when the four minutes are up, readies the charge on the door (pp. 162 to 163). It is a pocket watch. The maker is named; the model is not.
Source text: Longarm very carefully reached into his vest pocket and extracted a pear-shaped Ingersoll watch which he consulted before saying, "Henry, you're right again." (Tabor Evans, Longarm and the Midnight Mistress, scan cataloged as Jove Books, 2006, p. 3; Internet Archive scan OCR)
