Rolex watch

Ramirez checks his Rolex while ordering the devices armed, identifying the character's watch by brand without naming a specific model. The exchange sits within the section headed 3:21 P.M., before the narrative advances to 3:39 P.M. Ramirez's time check accompanies instructions to arm the devices and his departure for Command to make a phone call. The Rolex is integrated into the thriller's timed sequence, although the prose gives no model name or physical description. (Project Gutenberg source text)
