Crystal Lacey Winslow's 2006 novel alternates between three Brooklyn women: Breezy, a daddy's girl raised in a plush brownstone, her cousin Nicoli, and Kesha, a married police detective. Rolex (unidentified model): Kesha takes her $5,500 to a diamond district jeweler for the watch she has wanted for ten years. Among a display of dainty gold Rolex Presidents she picks a secondhand ruby-and-gold one with a diamond bezel, on sale for $5,400 cash with no tax, leaves with it in a Rolex box, and in the car puts it on and feels the guilt disappear. The text says "presidential gold Rolexes" and gives no model name or reference.

Chopard watch: Kesha knows the shop because she came there with Breezy, who bought a pink Chopard with a loose diamond in the dial, sixteen thousand dollars and a present from her father for acing her finals. A free-moving diamond in the dial is the mark of Chopard's Happy Diamonds and Happy Sport watches; the text names neither line.
