Terms of Vengeance (1987)

Terms of Vengeance, number 229 in the Nick Carter Killmaster series published under the house name, pits the agent against a Middle Eastern assassin raised in England under the name Gerald Raymond. Posing as a roofer with an accomplice named Raab, Raymond builds a bomb under the tiles of a guarded building, and his own watch becomes its clock. (Open Library)

Bulova Accutron: With pancakes of plastic explosive laid under the roof tiles and a detonator pressed in, Raymond takes a common Accutron from his wrist, its tiny battery already removed. He wires the detonator lead to the hand mechanism and a radio receiver to the battery terminals: triggered from the village, the receiver will start the minute hand, and thirty minutes later it will reach the hour mark and close the circuit. The text says only "Accutron".
