Century (Century Time Gems Ltd) is a Swiss watchmaker in Nidau, near Biel, founded in 1966 by Hans-Ulrich Klingenberg, who built the brand on watch cases cut and polished by hand from sapphire. In 1979 he devised the Megalith system, which fuses two sapphire discs into a single inseparable case, and in 2000 the company opened its first dedicated boutique in Tokyo's Ginza. (Century; Century)
