Eberhard & Co. was founded in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1887 by 22-year-old George-Emile Eberhard and grew into one of the largest Swiss manufactures by the early 1900s. The house built its reputation on chronographs and complicated movements, later distinguishing itself with the Chrono 4, whose four counters sit in a single row instead of the usual scattered sub-dials, and with the eight-day power reserve of its Extra-fort and 8 Jours lines.
