Enicar is Racine reversed. Ariste Racine and Emma Blatt could not trade under the family name, so the inversion was registered in 1914 and became the marque. After Enicar watches reached the summits of Lhotse and Everest with a Swiss expedition in May 1956, the company named its tool-watch line Sherpa, for the guides who carried it there.
