Fortis has built watches at Grenchen since Walter Vogt founded it in 1912, and in 1926 put the first series-produced automatic wristwatch on sale using John Harwood's patented rotor. The Swiss maker later tied itself to spaceflight, supplying the Russian space agency and sending its Official Cosmonauts Chronograph to the Mir station in 1992. (Fratello, Wikipedia)
