J.W. Benson was a London watch, clock, and silversmith house founded in 1847 by James William Benson, which went on to hold royal warrants from Queen Victoria and the Prince of Wales. It made pocket and wristwatches from its Cornhill and later Old Bond Street premises into the mid-20th century before the name faded from watchmaking. (Hancocks London)
