Mathey-Tissot is a Swiss watchmaker with 19th-century roots (its dials often read "since 1886"), historically known for complicated pocket watches, including minute repeaters and chronographs it supplied to other houses. Through the mid-20th century it built gold dress watches of the flashy, gem-set kind, and the brand has since traded on vintage associations, among them the gold watch Robert De Niro wears in The Irishman (2019).
