Mortima Watch period logo with rooster emblem

Mortima was the house brand of Cattin & Cie of Morteau, France, founded by Émile Cattin in 1929 and registered as a trademark in 1957. Making its own pin-pallet movements, cases, and dials, Cattin grew into Europe's largest integrated producer of Roskopf-type watches (past a million pieces a year by 1971), selling skin divers and date models at deliberately popular prices until quartz-era competition ended production in the early 1990s.
