Triton

Triton is a French dive-watch marque distinguished by a crown at 12 o'clock protected by an articulated guard, a design meant to prevent diving accidents from crown interference rather than for style. The original Triton, built in France on an ETA base movement, was among the first dive watches rated to 200 metres and was issued to several navies, including the French Navy. Jean-Sébastien Coste and Philippe Friedmann revived the brand in late 2015 under the new name Subphotique, since the original Spirotechnique trademark remained registered for diving equipment; the modern watch keeps the 12 o'clock crown and guard while growing to 41mm and adding a helium valve.
