Circuit no Ookami (1975)

From IMWDb
Circuit no Ookami volume 1 cover

Satoshi Ikezawa's automotive manga, serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump from 1975 to 1979, follows lone street racer Yūya Fubuki, nicknamed the "Wolf of Lotus" for his Lotus Europa Special, as he battles rivals driving real-world sports cars from Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Toyota on public roads and circuits en route to becoming a professional racer. Its realistic depiction of actual car models is credited with sparking Japan's 1970s supercar boom. (Japanese Wikipedia)
