Doraemon is a Japanese manga by Fujiko F. Fujio (the pen name of Hiroshi Fujimoto) about a robot cat sent back from the 22nd century to help the hapless schoolboy Nobita Nobi, first published in Shogakukan's children's magazines in December 1969 and collected in 45 volumes. It became one of Japan's best-known franchises through its television anime adaptations of 1973, 1979 to 2005, and 2005 onward, and an annual series of feature films that began in 1980, including Doraemon: Nobita's Wedding Eve.
