Fist of the North Star (北斗の拳, Hokuto no Ken) is a Japanese manga written by Buronson and illustrated by Tetsuo Hara, serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from September 13, 1983 to 1988. Set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland after nuclear war, it follows Kenshiro, successor to the deadly martial art Hokuto Shinken, as he fights gangs, bandits and rival successors, including his adoptive brother Raoh, to protect the innocent.
