Silver Surfer (Norrin Radd) is a superhero created by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby for Marvel Comics, introduced in Fantastic Four #48, cover-dated March 1966. Once an inhabitant of the planet Zenn-La, he became the herald of the cosmic world-devourer Galactus in exchange for his home's survival, and travels the universe astride a surfboard-shaped craft empowered by the Power Cosmic.
