A Taxi Driver (2017)

A Taxi Driver

Jang Hoon directed this South Korean historical drama (Korean: 택시운전사), dramatizing the 1980 Gwangju Uprising through the eyes of Seoul taxi driver Kim Man-seob (Song Kang-ho), who unknowingly drives German journalist Jürgen Hinzpeter (Thomas Kretschmann) into the besieged city to document the military crackdown. (Wikipedia) The film was South Korea's submission for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film and became one of the best-attended Korean films at the domestic box office.

Watches

Dux (unidentified model)

Worn by Song Kang-ho as Kim Man-seob. Montres de Luxe identifies Man-seob's watch as a vintage Dux on a leather strap, visible in a close-up shot roughly a quarter of the way into the film; the outlet does not name a reference or execution. Seoul retailer abbawatch.co.kr (아빠시계), which states in first person that it supplied the watch, independently corroborates the identification: "송강호님 영화 택시운전사 빈티지 DUX 시계 협찬" (actor Song Kang-ho, film "A Taxi Driver," vintage Dux watch sponsored).
