Denis Villeneuve's science-fiction drama, adapted by Eric Heisserer from Ted Chiang's novella "Story of Your Life", follows linguist Louise Banks (Amy Adams) and physicist Ian Donnelly (Jeremy Renner) as the US Army, under Forest Whitaker's Colonel Weber, sets them to deciphering the language of the twelve alien craft that have landed around the world. A Forumamontres member identifies Donnelly's watch as a Victorinox Airboss limited edition in titanium, visible several times for several seconds, and wonders at placing a sold-out limited edition he dates to 2013 and 250 pieces; his frame shows Donnelly at his binoculars wearing a dark-dial chronograph on a brown strap. A WatchUSeek thread asking the same question in November 2016 drew the reply that it looks like the Victorinox 241599, which Watch Hunter's Victorinox identifier lists as the Airboss Mechanical Chrono in titanium, a limited edition of 300 on a dark brown leather band. The two communities converge on the titanium Airboss chronograph; the edition count differs between them and neither the frame nor either post confirms the reference.
