Walt Disney Pictures' animated musical, directed by Gary Trousdale and Kirk Wise from a screenplay by Linda Woolverton. Bookish Belle is held captive at an enchanted castle after her father trespasses on the grounds of a cursed prince transformed into a fearsome Beast, and gradually falls in love with him as his household of enchanted servants, including candelabra Lumière and clock Cogsworth, works to break the spell before the last petal falls from an enchanted rose. Released November 22, 1991, it became the first animated film nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture. In 2026, marking the film's 35th screen anniversary, Citizen released a Disney-licensed EXCEED model built around Belle and the Beast's ballroom dance. (Wikipedia)
