Brad Silberling's live-action debut, from Universal Pictures, gives the Harvey Comics ghost a mansion of his own: Whipstaff Manor in Friendship, Maine, where paranormal therapist James Harvey (Bill Pullman) is hired to clear out the ghosts and his daughter Kat (Christina Ricci) befriends Casper instead, with Cathy Moriarty and Eric Idle as the schemers who hired them and Malachi Pearson as the voice of the ghost.
