Simon Kinberg made his directorial debut with this entry in Fox's X-Men series. A rescue mission in orbit exposes Jean Grey to a cosmic force that amplifies her powers and destabilizes her mind, and the X-Men divide over whether to save her or stop her. Sophie Turner plays Jean Grey with James McAvoy as Professor Charles Xavier, Michael Fassbender as Erik Lehnsherr, Jennifer Lawrence as Raven, Nicholas Hoult as Hank McCoy and Jessica Chastain as the shapeshifter drawing Jean toward the force.
