E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982)

From IMWDb
E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial

Steven Spielberg's E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, written by Melissa Mathison and produced by Spielberg and Kathleen Kennedy through Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment, opened June 11, 1982 after premiering at Cannes on May 26. Young Elliott discovers an alien botanist accidentally stranded on Earth, hides the creature from his family and government investigators with the help of his siblings, and races against E.T.'s failing health to reunite him with the spacecraft that can carry him home; John Alvin's teaser poster, with the alien's spacecraft descending through clouds toward a hillside beneath the tagline "He is afraid... he is 3 million light years from home," became one of the most reproduced pieces of film advertising art of the decade. The watch connection came four decades later, when Citizen built a bicycle-and-moon dial graphic into an official 40th-anniversary Ana-Digi Temp collaboration rather than placing a watch on any character's wrist. Citizen Record Label Ana-Digi Temp JG2137-62L
Official product partnership — not an in-work appearance. Citizen released the JG2137-62L in November 2023 as one of four Record Label Ana-Digi Temp collaborations with Universal Pictures properties, limited to 200 pieces. Its dial silhouettes Elliott's bicycle crossing the moon against layered pine trees, echoing the film's best-known image, and the lower case plate carries an "E.T." marking; no character wears the watch on screen.
