A troubled young man in 1917 Salinas competes for his stern father's approval against his favored twin brother, testing how far he will go to prove his worth. (Wikipedia) Directed by Elia Kazan from John Steinbeck's novel, the Warner Bros. film gave James Dean his breakout leading role as Cal Trask, earning him a posthumous Best Actor nomination; it premiered March 9, 1955.

Worn by James Dean as Cal Trask. Dean bought this gold-filled, full-hunter pocket watch as a struggling actor in the early 1950s and called it his "lucky watch."
