Egoist (エゴイスト) is a 2023 Japanese film directed by Daishi Matsunaga, adapted from Makoto Takayama's autobiographical novel and first shown at the 2022 Tokyo International Film Festival before its 2023 theatrical release. Kosuke Saito (Ryohei Suzuki), a magazine editor who hid his sexuality through a lonely adolescence, falls for Ryuta (Hio Miyazawa), a personal trainer supporting his single mother, and the relationship draws Kosuke into caring for Ryuta's family in ways that outlast romance.
