A queen hires a sorceress to grant her the power to transform into a wolf; the sorceress recruits a hunter to guide her through a post-apocalyptic wasteland in search of the magic she needs, only for a twist to reveal he is the shapeshifter she has been sent to find. Martin's 1982 short story of the same name and stars Milla Jovovich as the sorceress Gray Alys and Dave Bautista as the hunter Boyce. It was released by Vertical Entertainment in March 2025.

Anderson cast a real Blancpain Villeret Carrousel Répétition Minutes Chronographe Flyback, worth roughly $500,000, as the film's central magical talisman, quoting Anderson: "I cast the watch as you would cast an actor, as the best watch for the role... a timepiece at a time when no one wears them." The film treats the watch as an object bound up in Gray Alys and Boyce's shared quest rather than showing it worn continuously by one character, and Hodinkee's own account does not assign it to either character's wrist as a confirmed on-screen fact.
