Le Cercle Rouge is a 1970 French crime film written and directed by Jean-Pierre Melville. A career criminal fresh out of prison, an escaped convict, and a disgraced former policeman turned marksman are drawn together for a jewelry heist in Paris, while the police commissioner assigned to stop them closes in. The StudioCanal close-up shows a square case bordered on all four sides by a beaded bezel, a black dial with no numerals inside a gilt frame, faint Cartier lettering under twelve and a black strap; it shows none of the brancards, white dial or Roman numerals of a Tank, so the frame supports the maker and not the model.
