Illiterate errand runner Kim Pan-soo (Yoo Hae-jin) joins scholar Ryu Jung-hwan (Yoon Kye-sang), the society's leader, traveling the peninsula to gather regional vocabulary in secret ahead of the society members' real-life 1942 arrest.
