On a Mississippi River island, two young boys encounter a stranger who tells wild tales about bounty hunters and a beautiful woman. (IMDb) Written and directed by Jeff Nichols, the coming-of-age drama premiered in competition for the Palme d'Or at Cannes in May 2012 and reached American cinemas through Roadside Attractions and Lionsgate in April 2013. Set on the Arkansas stretch of the Mississippi River, it stars Tye Sheridan as Ellis and Jacob Lofland as Neckbone, the boys who help Matthew McConaughey's fugitive repair a boat and reach Reese Witherspoon's Juniper, with Sam Shepard and Michael Shannon in support. Neckbone's plain black digital is the all-black Casio F-108WH, and the film stops on it: at 1:25:45 a full-frame insert holds his wrist outside the motel office while he waits on his bike and Ellis works along the balcony looking for Juniper, the display climbing from 4:59:58 to five o'clock exactly. The frame resolves the printing that identifies the model, ILLUMINATOR across the top bezel and WATER RESIST across the bottom, with CASIO, START/STOP, ALARM CHRONO and a boxed WR on the dial, all of it matching Casio's own F-108WH-1A and none of it matching the flat-faced F-105W (Casio). Because the wrist is turned in the shot, the bezel lines run diagonally rather than square. He is wearing the same watch far earlier, on the boat out to the island. (Watch-ID)
