Scott Hicks's romantic comedy-drama, written by Carol Fuchs, reworks the 2001 German film Mostly Martha. Catherine Zeta-Jones plays Kate Armstrong, the exacting head chef of a Manhattan restaurant who takes in her nine-year-old niece Zoe (Abigail Breslin) after her sister's death, and Aaron Eckhart plays Nick Palmer, the sous chef hired alongside her; Patricia Clarkson and Bob Balaban co-star.
