Dan Gilroy's legal drama stars Denzel Washington as Roman J. Israel, a Los Angeles defence lawyer who has spent decades writing briefs in the back room of a two-man civil-rights practice. When his partner collapses he goes to work for George Pierce (Colin Farrell), a former student of that partner who now runs a large and profitable firm, and makes a decision that undoes him. Worn by Colin Farrell as George Pierce. Premiere Props sold the watch on 9 December 2017 (lot 225), three weeks after the film's release, as "George (Colin Farrell) screen used, hero, gold "Omega" watch with brown leather strap". The lot photographs show a gold-tone round case with stepped lugs, a silver dial carrying the Omega symbol and name, a retrograde day-of-the-week arc, two subdials and gilt baton markers, on a reddish-brown crocodile-pattern strap. The lot names no model or reference, and the dial layout has not been matched to an Omega catalogue model, so the row claims the maker's name as the catalogue gives it and no more. The same sale listed a watch for Roman labelled "Vacheron" without naming Denzel Washington; it is not claimed. (Premiere Props lot 225)
