Panerai Luminor GMT PAM00063

Worn by Tom Cruise as Les Grossman. Under the bald cap and prosthetic hands, Grossman's wrist carries a 44 mm Panerai Luminor GMT, identified by specialists as the central-seconds PAM00063, on a dark leather strap, an expensive, aggressive watch that suits the vulgar power of the studio executive. The screen-used prop was later sold at auction as a Panerai Luminor. Montres de Luxe independently reaches the same PAM00063 identification, on a leather bracelet, and adds that the reference was produced in a run of 1,500 pieces in 2000. (aBlogtoWatch; Propstore; Montres de Luxe) A second Propstore lot, from the Los Angeles March 2024 live auction (lot 444), contradicts the reference: it sold Grossman's watch, necklace, rings and Bluetooth headset with the watch described as "a crystal, brushed steel, and black leather watch designed and branded by production to resemble a real-world Panerai Luminor Marina", which would make the screen piece a production-made facsimile of a Luminor Marina rather than a genuine central-seconds GMT. The 2021 lot's "Panerai Luminor", the 2024 lot's production-made Marina and the specialists' PAM00063 do not agree with one another, and the two lots may describe two different props; nothing available settles it.
