機捜235 is a TV Tokyo two-hour mystery drama special that aired April 24, 2020, the first entry in a franchise adapting Bin Konno's novel of the same name (Kobunsha). Yuta Hiraoka plays Takuya Takamaru, an ambitious young officer of the Metropolitan Police Department's Second Mobile Investigation Unit, paired against his will with Shoichi Shimanaga (Baijaku Nakamura), a veteran nearing retirement whose unassuming manner conceals a trained memory for wanted faces from his years on the department's "sight identification" squad. Kunio Yasui wrote the screenplay and Yoshihisa Kodama directed; the supporting cast includes Yumiko Shaku, Yuta Kanai, Toshihide Higashine, Yurina Yanagi, Koki Okada, Toshiyuki Someya, Ruri Shinato, Miyu Azama, Mutsuo Yoshioka, Makoto Ashikawa, Mirai Yamamoto, Satoshi Jinbo, and Takaaki Enoki.
