A Very Secret Service

A Very Secret Service, released in France as Au service de la France, is a Cold War spy comedy created by Jean-François Halin for Arte. At the height of 1960, wide-eyed recruit André Merlaux, played by Hugo Becker, joins the French secret service fresh from Algeria and trains under agents more concerned with expense reports than tradecraft, as the show plays the genre conventions of OSS 117-style espionage against the slow unraveling of French colonial power.
