Checkmate Lawyer (法廷のドラゴン, Hotei no Dragon, literally "Dragon of the Courtroom") is a TV Tokyo Friday-night legal drama that ran for eight episodes from 17 January to 7 March 2025. Mone Kamishiraishi stars as Tatsumi Tendo, a former competitive shogi player who abandoned her run at the professional ranks and is taken on as a trial-basis attorney by Kotaro Fuda, played by Mahiro Takasugi, a young lawyer struggling to keep his late father's failing practice open; Tendo applies the multi-move calculation of shogi to reading courtroom outcomes. Kotaro Fuda wears a steel Grand Seiko with a blue dial on a bracelet at his office from episode 1, the watch Arekiru says he always wears there. Arekiru identifies it as the 9F quartz SBGX265; Konta Watch Blog instead names the SBGH273, a hi-beat mechanical Heritage model with a 62GS-style case and a blue gradient dial.
