Watches

Unidentified watch
Worn by Ted Danson as Sam Malone. Sam's first-season watch is a steel military-style field watch with a black dial, worn on a khaki vinyl strap with a single-prong buckle and a wide leather keeper. BAMF Style, which tracks the evolving series of watches Danson wears across the run, calls it very clearly seen in season 1 episode 14 "Let Me Count the Ways" (13 January 1983) and notes its comic turn in episode 22 "Showdown, Part 2" (31 March 1983), when Sam challenges Diane to stay silent for ten seconds and offers to time her; by season 2 episode 1 "Power Play" (29 September 1983), which resumes the same scene, the watch has moved to a brown leather band. BAMF Style names no maker, offering only modern field watches as look-alikes, so the watch stays unidentified. (BAMF Style)
Unidentified watch
Worn by Ted Danson as Sam Malone. From season 2 episode 10 "How Do I Love Thee? Let Me Call You Back" (8 December 1983) Sam switches to an all-black watch: dark gunmetal round case, black dial with white hands and hour markers, black strap. BAMF Style records that Danson wears it for the rest of the second season apart from episodes 12 and 13, a departure from the field watches on khaki and brown bands of the first season and a half. No maker is named and nothing on the dial is legible in the available frames. (BAMF Style)
Unidentified watch
Worn by Ted Danson as Sam Malone. From the start of the third season in autumn 1984 Sam wears a gold watch with a minimalist round case, round white dial and tan leather strap, the dress watch that BAMF Style says replaced the black watch after season 2 and that it notes again in its breakdown of season 5 episode 9 "Thanksgiving Orphans" (27 November 1986). No maker is named. (BAMF Style; BAMF Style)
