Deep State is the British espionage thriller Matthew Parkhill and Simon Maxwell created for Fox Networks Group, first broadcast in the United Kingdom on 5 April 2018 and in the United States on Epix. Max Easton (Mark Strong), a former MI6 field agent living quietly in the French Pyrenees, is pulled back into service after his son from a first marriage is reported killed in Beirut, and finds himself inside a conspiracy that reaches into the intelligence services; Walton Goggins joined as the CIA's Nathan Miller for the second series, with Joe Dempsie, Karima Adebibe, Lyne Renée and Alistair Petrie in the first. Skagen 233XXLSLN

Worn by Mark Strong as Max Easton. In the first series Easton wears a very thin steel watch with a dark dial on a black strap, posted as a frame on Uhrforum in June 2021. A reply proposed the Skagen 233XXLSLN with its blue dial, and the asker, having looked again, wrote that he was now certain the watch was a Skagen. The identification is probable rather than confirmed: the frame settles the slim Klassik case, the Arabic numerals and the leather strap, but the dial colour that separates the blue 233XXLSLN from its black-dial sibling 233XXLSLB is not resolved on screen, and a retired spy in a sub-100-dollar Danish quartz watch is a costume choice the series never comments on.
