Dream Team is an eight-episode NHK ensemble drama that aired from January 22 to March 12, 2021, based on a story by Tomoko Yoshizawa. Sayaka Yamaguchi, Naomi Zaizen, and Nanami Sakuraba play Kana Enoki, Yuko Tsuruga, and Akane Miyozawa, three former captains of a champion high-school basketball team whose adult lives have each collapsed in different ways, from a sudden demotion and a partner's infidelity to a viral social-media scandal. At their old coach's memorial gathering, his widow invites the three to move into the team's old dormitory, and the drama follows their reluctant path back toward the resolve their coach once demanded of them: "attack until the end."
