Encounter (남자친구, "Boyfriend") is a tvN television series directed by Park Shin-woo that aired 16 episodes from November 28, 2018, to January 24, 2019. Song Hye-kyo plays Cha Soo-hyun, a politician's daughter and divorced chaebol daughter-in-law who runs Donghwa Hotel, and Park Bo-gum plays Kim Jin-hyuk, the younger man she meets on a business trip to Cuba, who then joins her hotel as a new hire. The Economic Review's watch column of 5 December 2018, written after the first two episodes, identifies Cha Soo-hyun's watch as Chaumet's Hortensia precious watch: a 31 mm white-gold case with 55 brilliant-cut diamonds on the bezel, a pale blue mother-of-pearl dial carved with hydrangea blossoms and a blue satin strap, about 30 million won and then available in Korea only to order. The tvN close-up it reproduces shows the diamond bezel, the carved dial and the blue strap. The reading is the columnist's own from the frame, and the column gives no reference. (Economic Review)
