Shotaro Ishinomori's Himitsu Sentai Gorenger (秘密戦隊ゴレンジャー), produced by Toei, aired on NET (now TV Asahi) for 84 episodes from April 5, 1975 to March 26, 1977, and launched the long-running Super Sentai franchise. Five survivors of the terrorist Black Cross Army's attacks on the EAGLE defense organization are recruited into electronic battlesuits as the Gorengers, fighting the Black Cross Army and its Führer as a five-color team distinguished by red, blue, yellow, pink (momo), and green (mido).
