Ronald D. Moore's adaptation of Diana Gabaldon's novels for Starz follows Claire Randall (Caitríona Balfe), a former Second World War nurse carried from 1945 to 1743 through the standing stones at Craigh na Dun, and the Highland tacksman Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) she marries, through the Jacobite rising and on to colonial North Carolina; Tobias Menzies plays both Frank and Black Jack Randall, Duncan Lacroix Jamie's godfather Murtagh and Maria Doyle Kennedy his aunt Jocasta Cameron. Worn by Maria Doyle Kennedy as Jocasta Cameron. In the season 5 finale "Never My Love" (episode 12, broadcast 10 May 2020) Claire withdraws into an imagined 1960s household while she is assaulted, and the 18th-century cast appear in period dress for the dream. Bonhams' "Outlander: The Auction Online" (London, closing 6 August 2026) sold the dreamscape costumes of Jocasta and Murtagh as lot 284: Jocasta's "purple paisley design vintage dress labelled 'Mademoiselle'" with a green knitted cardigan, Boden boots, three rings and pearl earrings, "finished with a watch 'Timex blue' oval face and thin leather strap"; Murtagh's outfit closes with "a silver-coloured elasticated metal-strap watch" that the essay gives no maker for. The lot photograph shows the Timex name on a blue oval dial with Arabic 12, 3, 6 and 9, in a steel cushion case on a grey leather strap; the essay names no model. Sold for £1,088 with premium.
