The Making of an Ordinary Woman

The Making of an Ordinary Woman (俗女養成記) is a ten-episode Taiwanese comedy-drama that aired on CTS main channel from August 4 to September 1, 2019, adapted from Jiang E's essay collection of the same name. Hsieh Ying-hsuan stars as Chen Chia-lin, a 39-year-old Tainan-born woman in Taipei who has just lost her job, her apartment, and her boyfriend, told across present-day and childhood timelines. Wen Sheng-hao plays Jiang Xian-rong, Chen's live-in boyfriend of four years, whose devotion to his mother and general spinelessness precipitate their breakup in the opening episode.
