Ultraman (ウルトラマン) is a Japanese tokusatsu science fiction series created by Eiji Tsuburaya and produced by Tsuburaya Productions, broadcast on the Tokyo Broadcasting System network across 39 episodes from July 17, 1966 to April 9, 1967. A Science Special Search Party officer merges with a giant alien superhero from Nebula M78 to defend Earth against a parade of kaiju, launching the long-running Ultra Series and the "giant hero" subgenre.
