Asteroids is a multidirectional shooter arcade video game designed by Lyle Rains and Ed Logg and released by Atari, Inc. in 1979. The player steers a spaceship through an asteroid field on a vector display, shooting asteroids and flying saucers, and the game became one of the first major hits of the golden age of arcade games before Atari's home ports, including an Atari 2600 version that sold more than three million copies. Nubeo, the Hong Kong brand operated by Solar Time Limited, made this 50 mm automatic in collaboration with Atari for the game's 45th anniversary; its page was first captured in December 2024, in five colourways of 125 pieces (Nebula Blue NB-6111-01, Supernova Red -02, Celestial Citrine -03, Plasma Pumpkin -04, Nova Nightfall -05), with a layered disc dial on which UFOs glide to mark the time. Nubeo listed this licensed automatic on July 18, 2025 in five colourways of 100 individually numbered pieces (Asteroid Black NB-6112-01, Orbiting Blue -02, Cosmic Void -03, Fireball Fury -04, Nebula Night -05): a 42 mm square steel case shaped after the Atari 2600 console, a spaceship-shaped seconds hand, a joystick-inspired crown and a caseback printed with graphics from the 1981 Atari 2600 Game Program.
