Nihon Falcom's long-running action role-playing series, begun with Ys I: Ancient Ys Vanished for the NEC PC-8801 on June 21, 1987, and continued across thirteen mainline entries through Ys X: Nordics in 2023. Nearly every installment follows red-haired swordsman Adol Christin, whose travels across the fictional world are framed as the hundred-odd journals of his own "Adol Christin's Travelogue." The series is known for fast, real-time combat redesigned across several console generations and for Falcom's own in-house soundtracks. (Wikipedia)
