Baume & Mercier Baumatic 1185
More actions
The Baume & Mercier Baumatic 1185 is a steel dress watch from the maker's original Baumatic line, a name Baume & Mercier used across its 1960s micro-rotor automatics decades before reviving it in 2018 for an unrelated in-house movement. This reference pairs a 34 mm case and integrated bracelet with a white dial, painted Roman numerals, a magnified date window and a fluted bezel, over a 30-jewel automatic movement built around a Buren micro-rotor calibre, catalogued in the trade as BM 13220. The micro-rotor let Baume & Mercier build a self-winding movement thin enough for a dress case, at a time when automatic watches were still mostly reserved for sports models. (EveryWatch) Alain Delon wears one in Tony Arzenta, playing the Milanese hitman the film is named for. (Revolution)
